Waterfront Uplift

This spectacularly located cottage was originally built for summer use only. The new owners wished to transform it into a beautiful year-round residence. To accomplish this the house was raised high enough off the ground to allow for the construction of a proper foundation and basement and then set back down on top.

Modern Farmhouse

A newly retired business man and his wife purchased an old abandoned farm consisting of derelict farm buildings and crumbling stone walls. Their desire was to create an updated horse farm where they could pursue their love of horseback riding and photography. With the help of architect Cheryl Newton and HP Broom a modern farmhouse and beautiful post and beam barn with attached guest quarters were created to realize the dream.

Pointer Perch

The “Perch” was a delightful project for the architects Charles Haver and Stewart Skolnick of Haver & Skolnick Architects on Fishers Island.

A bit of a “Foley on the Hill” with the home’s tower like proportions yet diminutive size located in Fishers Island with panoramic ocean views. The interior is pleasantly detailed with paneling and beams. No surface or material connection lacks thought or detail. A favorite of 2022.

Village Greek Revival

This classic Greek Revival sits in the middle of a historic New England village. The house had just been remodeled by a real estate “house flipper” when a successful New York business man purchased it. The new owner, unhappy with the quality and taste of the remodel, hired architect Robert Orr and Assoc. to help him properly restore and upgrade the house. It now stands proudly as a perfect jewel box on Main Street.

Shingle Style Restoration

This classic shingle style “cottage” was once owned and enjoyed by a renowned composer and conductor of the 1920’s. Grand parties with the New York musical elite were held at this property. Over the decades the house was neglected and fell into disrepair. The current owner purchased the house with the desire to return it to it’s former glory. Structural repairs, all new mechanical systems and total restoration of of the interior finishes were necessary. The magnificent pergola, totally destroyed by a hurricane, was rebuilt using only old photographs found at the local historical museum.

Artist's Retreat

An internationally renowned minimalist artist purchased a classic Greek revival house in CT to use as a weekend retreat and eventual retirement home. The house underwent major restoration. This work resulted in a magical juxtaposition of classic architectural detail and contemporary furniture and art.
